It is with great excitement I write this letter of introduction as your new principal at Home Gardens Academy. I am honored and privileged to join the HGA family, a family that has a long-established history of going above and beyond for students.
I attended CNUSD as a student (K-12) and take pride in the unique opportunities that it offers. I am proud to say I have worked at CNUSD since 1999. From starting as a computer lab aide, then an after-school aide and long-terming in RSP and gen Ed, to subsequently teaching 3rd and 5th grade, next a TSA and administration for the last 8 years, I’ve had many opportunities to learn and grow to better serve our students, staff, and families, and l look forward to doing the same at HGA.
As an educational leader, I strongly believe that by establishing a collaborative learning environment with high expectations, we build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. My first goal is to get to know staff and students as soon as possible, then meet with parents and other community stakeholders in the near future. I have a very simple philosophy that has served me well, and that is, "Do what's best for kids." The decisions I have made and will continue to make are consistent, fair, thoughtful, and represent my philosophy. You will learn early on that I am a very visible principal, so expect me to greet you throughout the campus. I am excited by the opportunity to extend our vision of putting kids first, academically, and socioemotional, in partnership with the HGA school community
I wholeheartedly believe that ALL students can learn at high levels, and it is my goal to ensure HGA students continue to receive a quality education in an environment that is safe and nurturing every day. I am committed to working in partnership with our families, staff, and community to support our children in reaching their maximum potential.
I look forward to celebrating our collective success during the 2022-23 school year as we work together to continuously provide a positive, engaging, and rigorous learning environment for all students.
Sincerely,
Dr. Gonzalez
